Engineering Networks is thrilled to be partnering with DAYWALK in search of an Engineering Manager. With over 20 years of industry knowledge, DAYWALK is a leader in designing and manufacturing modular transport systems that protect “People” and make a difference in their lives.

They have an enviable product line including key legislative transportation solutions that are pivotal to the safety of road transportation.
The Position
Working as the Engineering Manager, this role will see the successful candidate challenged in a fast-paced area of engineering and technical support where you will take final responsibility for all design and quality including managing quality across local and international suppliers.
You will also be responsible for project managing custom engineering orders through the phases of certification, production and delivery.
Furthermore, the Engineering Manager is responsible for managing the team to design, recommend and quote solutions in response to complex logistical challenges faced by our customers.
This role involves driving our in-house innovation program in response to market demand and customer feedback, as well as proactive R&D along with providing expert knowledge and input into the development and review of new solutions.
The successful candidate will be highly skilled in problem-solving and have extensive experience in DFM (design for manufacture) and project management.
The role works closely with management, sales, as well as external clients and contractors. Must be mechanically minded, a self-starter, creative, highly detailed, have good management skills, work as a team and have an adaptable and positive outlook. 
As a degree qualified Mechanical Engineer, the successful candidate will demonstrate the company values, promote safety practices and procedures, build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders and can work very closely in a small and highly productive team.
Computer literacy within Microsoft office is essential, while experience in Autodesk would be an advantage.
To be successful in this role you MUST have:

  • Proven experience leading a team in a DFM environment
  • Project management experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering with a high level of mechanical aptitude – a must!
  • RPEQ is highly desirable
  • FEA experience
  • Solid safety awareness including the relationship between equipment strategies and safety implications.
  • Ability to lead, support and deliver new innovative solutions
  • Work in a small team environment
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen ideally having worked with large corporate organisations
  • Knowledge and awareness of required International Standards for welding, coatings and drawings
  • Ability to scope projects and tenders
  • Managing drawing version and revision control
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • A desire to contribute to and maintain the company values and culture
The Offer
Depending on your experience,  the position offers a competitive salary package of $150,000 - $180,000 Base + Super and an opportunity for career advancement.
